Looking to vacation in great weather with better prices and fewer crowds? Then one of the best times to do so is during the next couple of months of March and April! If you have the ability and finances to travel and are looking for a place to take the whole family, there are plenty of options around the world that are a perfect fit.

We have compiled a list of five fantastic destinations that are best traveled during Springtime in the Northern Hemisphere.

Japan

Springtime is the best time to visit Japan, particularly in late March when the weather is pleasant and the cherry blossoms, or “sakura,” bloom in spectacular fashion throughout the country. See them in all their glory at Kenroku-en Gardens in Kanazawa, or in front of the historic Osaka Castle, a castle with a surrounding park lined with over 4,000 cherry trees!

Ireland

This is also a great time to visit the beautiful nation of Ireland, as temperatures are mild, flowers are in full bloom, and valleys are rich and thick from the winter rains. For breathtaking scenery of the rugged west coast of Ireland, drive the Wild Atlantic Way from Derry to West Cork and stop often for unforgettable photo opportunities!

Cliffs of Moher, County Clare, Ireland, The Burren, Europe are one of Ireland's top touristic attractions. The maximum height of Cliffs is 214 m, lenght 8 km.

Be sure to also visit Connemara for stunning mountain views that have been the backdrop of many famous movies and films, and don’t be surprised if a cow or goat crosses the road right in front of you. If you’re looking for nightlife, Dublin is the place to be, but for a more relaxed experience, Galway is famous for authentic traditional Irish music and dance, and authentic cobblestone streets.

Paris

There’s a reason that springtime in Paris is praised throughout the world – it truly is the time to see this beloved city at its best. An obvious must-see is the Eiffel Tower, which in Spring is surrounded by fantastic blooming gardens. The iconic tower even sports an ice skating rink underneath that’s open through the first week of March, and is free with your Eiffel Tower ticket admission.

Philippines

With more than 7,000 islands, the Philippines are a delight for any beach lovers. Paradise is found everywhere, but specifically on the islands of Palawan and El Nido. Snorkelers, divers, and adventurers will be in heaven in El Nido, a gateway city to crystal clear waters, sugar sand beaches, and hidden caves and lagoons. Visit from March to May, during the sunny and dry season for a time you’ll always hold dear.

Wuerzburg City Panorama. Medieval City with famous church towers in Bavaria near Munich

Germany

There’s no better time than the Spring to visit Munich! For starters, there is the Munich Spring Fest, which serves as a mini-Oktoberfest where the music and drinks are just as good, but there are fewer crowds and better weather. Take an affordable day trip from Munich to the Royal Castles of Neuschwanstein and Linderhof, and see firsthand why these Bavarian masterpieces were the inspiration for countless works of art. For what many call the best ice cream in town, stop by Gelato Naturale when the ice cream is freshly made for a giant scoop that’s easy on the eyes and your budget.

With so many wondrous destinations like these, you and your family are sure to have an amazing time. If you’re lucky to visit one of these five places, don’t forget your camera so you can take tons of photos that will always remind you of your fun time abroad.
